The "Golden Visa" Greece Program To Resume In May

Greek government agencies, including migration services, will resume work on May 4, 2020.

The Greek government is interested in rapidly reviving the economy, after the country's business life has been stopped for more than a month. First of all, the changes will affect e-government, which will allow continuing work even under partial quarantine.

Since May, these changes will also affect the local Golden Visa program. Now program participants are not required to visit the country twice, as it was before, to open a bank account and for biometrics before applying. Bank accounts may now be opened remotely, and biometrics can be submitted at the very end of the process before obtaining residence permit. These measures will allow you to fully restore the program and even accelerate the process of submitting and considering applications.

A Greek residence permit can be obtained for investments from EUR 250,000 in the country's economy, including through the purchase of real estate.
